Kids Playhouses – My Great Search
Kids playhouses are more than just a toy, or a wooden structure in your backyard. They are dreams, imagination, hours worth of enjoyment. They are a piece of a childs life that they will never forget when they are grown up. My wife had a playhouse when she was a kid, and remembers ppaying in it quite fondly.
Because of this, we wanted to buy a playhouse for our daughter Kaitlin, who just turned four years old. Well, the process turns out to be much more complex than I originally thought. There are many great companies online that now sell kids playhouses, and there are literally hundreds of models to chose from. At the same time, you could design your own. And buy the materials at a home improvement store.
The search was on, and anyone that knows me knows that I am highly analytical, and will take a long time, and put in a lot of effort when I make a purchase. Often to the point of overkill. So I started at my local hardware store. Big mistake. Those guys are very helpful when it comes to nuts and bolts, but not when it comes to outdoor playhouse Kits, or designing them.
Then, I went to the big boys – you know, the ones in orange. Even bigger mistake. I couldn’t even flag someone down let alone ask them to help me put togrthrer a plan for this playhouse, or a list of materials to go with it. In their defense, had I been more of a handyman or an engineer type, I could have saved a substantial amount of money there. But I digress.
So where did I end up – online of course. There are many great sources for kids playhouses on the web. I chose to go with a company called Kids Playhouses because they offer quality amish made wooden outdoor kids playhouse kits, at affordable prices. All the Wood and hardware you need is precut and included, and shipping was free. The playhouse arrived in less than one week, to my children’s delight! Assembly was way easier than I thought. I had the whole playhouse up in the backyard within one weekend! It is now month later, and this playhouse kit to me, has been worth ten times its monetary value, when you look at the gleam in my daughter’s eyes each time she plays in it!
